Harvey Nash opens wireless technology center

The company is expanding its Vietnam operations as part of a deal with Alcatel-Lucent

UK recruitment and IT services provider Harvey Nash has opened a center in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam to provide next-generation wireless R&D services to clients around the world.

The company said the Wireless Technology Center will create 200 jobs. The company is expanding its Vietnam operations as part of a E54m ($68m) deal with Alcatel-Lucent. The center will be connected with Alcatel's software R&D center in Germany

The company has been working in Vietnam since 2000 with global companies including Prudential, Honda, Stepstone, Hitachi, and the Discovery Channel. It plans to create an additional 20 to 30 jobs to staff a development center for HR software provider Stepstone.

Paul Smith, managing director of outsourcing and offshore software development at Harvey Nash, said: At a time when businesses around the world are cutting jobs we are proud to be creating 200 new high-technology roles in Vietnam. Our new center of excellence is capable of delivering world class solutions to the wireless telecommunications sector.

Harvey Nash is a global recruitment consultancy and IT outsourcing service provider. It provides services such as executive search, interim management, IT and finance recruitment and IT outsourcing. Harvey Nash Offshore Software Development and Outsourcing has five development hubs around the world, two in Vietnam, one in London, one in Nuremberg and one in Atlanta.
