UK firms miss out on ITIL for governance
By Janine Milne
Two thirds of IT staff believe that ITIL is the best aid to support their corporate governance initiatives, according to a survey by IT service management (ITSM) firm Axios Systems.
While eight in 10 of the respondents surveyed at the Service Desk and Support IT Show acknowledged that governance had risen in importance over the past three years few were using tools to help them comply.
Only 7% said they used ITSM tools and only 14% used an IT governance framework, blaming the pressure of juggling IT responsibilities on the failure to adopt these measures.
“IT directors have an opportunity to leverage existing ITSM and ITIL tools to manage not only service desks, but also corporate governance,” said Tasos Symeonides, CEO and co-founder at Axios Systems.
